Ramblings, opinions and discoveries of one Juan dela Cruz in his quest to be a better Filipino

An insult to our Armed Forces from the President who is yet to be inaugurated

This is a call to our President-Elect Noynoy Aquino, or P-Noy as he preferred to be called:

Yes, the Arroyo administration may have its own lapses and controversy. In your circle, that may give you the right to humiliate and insult them. Why not? They are politicians! and whether we admit it or not, only but few of our politicians nowadays deserve some respect. For you, Mr.President, you have yet to prove to your constituents that you deserve that respect in the duration of your incumbency.

Yet, before being inaugurated, your actions (regardless of your awareness of it) has somehow insulted our Armed Forces of the Philippines. As the President of the State, you should be calling on your constituents for unity and respect our of authority. Respect our government. Respect our law enforcement.

Yet, for the past weeks, you and your disrespectful spokesperson Edwin Lacierda has been humiliating the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, just because he is an appointee of your hated predecessor, who, by the way, gain office with the help of your martyr mother. You humiliated a man who dedicated his life in serving the country far more than you did, laid his own life in several instances, worked his way through his present rank as how the Military do it--years in battle field, advanced schooling, progressive and elevating positions for career growth. That's how our soldiers gain their respect and position! Unlike politicians, who need not have the experience and the accomplishment to gain various positions in the land. A name is all they need--- may it be good or bad.

You could get rid of General Bangit once your in post. But you know what, the humiliation that you bestowed to the man is no equal to the humiliation you caused to yourself. You and your circle may not be aware of it because your'e still floating in cloud 9. But us thinkers and not fanatics, professionals, middleclass (not from your elite circle), prefer to respect people who sweat with blood to be where they are now, than the privildged few who, since birth, were raised in comfort and luxury because their name promised them a place for greatness that many much deserved more.
