CPP's Php 1 Billion Election fund gone down the drain

Even before the culmination of the 2010 national elections, CPP/NPA/NDF personalities/ senatoriables Liza Masa and Satur Ocampo were lagging behind surveys. The one billion pesos raised by the party to fund its hoax party, MAKABAYAN, barely made difference to the candidacies of the two. Gone were the fund years raised by the party's cadres mostly through extortion from businessmen and mandatory contributions from poor supporters from the countryside.

Yet, the CPP faction led by Jose Maria Sison's successor, and rival, Benito Tiamzon, rejoiced on the defeat of the party's election effort. The result shamed Sison. It also gave Tiamzon an issue to attack Sison and the defeated senatoriables specifically alleging on the pilfering of the said huge fund. Which put Ocampo into hiding now.

The result of the 2010 elections spoke much for the future of the party. Not only it shows the diminishing support of the masses to the party, but it also intensified the internal debates and frictions inside. Tiamzon argues that while Sison enjoys a luxurious lifestyle in the Netherlands, militias and cadres in the countryside are starved while sick members were denied of proper medication. The one billion pesos downed to drain during the election could have well provided for the morale and welfare of cadres.

For the Filipinos, though, this is a good news. The CPP's death is unevitable. Sooner we can expect for a more peaceful and progessive nation.
